Mike Conklin is an editor, writer, and veteran media professional with more than 20 years of experience across all aspects of digital and print publishing. He’s held editorial leadership positions at Men’s Journal, Gear Patrol, and, most recently, InsideHook, where he served as editor-in-chief until April of 2026.

He has deep expertise across men’s style, food and drink, and culture, with a particular focus on music criticism and discovery. He has helped launch successful newsletters, social media accounts, YouTube channels, and tentpole editorial franchises. He has hosted events for brand partners, moderated panel discussions, and appeared as an expert guest on radio shows and podcasts.

Earlier this year, he launched a Substack where he writes daily about music—and, more specifically, about how to maintain a meaningful connection to it once the time-consuming realities of adult life set in.

He lives on Long Island with his wife and two daughters, as well as an ever-growing vinyl collection and more guitars than he can possibly justify given his skill level.
